In Remembrance of Scott Evans
October 4, 1953 - August 23, 2026

Scott Evans, our cherished friend and ministry partner, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2026. While he is deeply missed here on earth, we also take comfort knowing he is now in the presence of our Saviour, reunited with his beloved wife, Debbie.
It is with gratitude and affection that we remember Scott as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and faithful ambassador for Christ. He was not only a dear brother in the faith and supporter of Truth Time Radio since 2011, but over the years, he became an integral part of our ministry family.
Scott brought kindness, encouragement, and humility to every aspect of his life and service. He was a strong minister of reconciliation, always seeking to point people to the peace found in Christ. One of his many lasting contributions is the audio transcripts he diligently prepared from our podcasts, which were vital to our vision for a fully searchable new website that includes all of our teachings. Through his efforts, all of our lessons are now easily accessible to more people than ever before. Scott’s dedication behind the scenes was driven by his heart for sharing the truth of God’s Word, not for recognition, but for the sake of helping others grow in faith.
In addition to his work with TTR, Scott poured his wisdom and passion into his own Bible teaching series featured on our mobile app, “Look in the Book,” which reflected his love of scripture and desire for others to be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth.
We celebrate Scott’s earthly life -a life marked by faithfulness, friendship, and a servant’s heart. Though we feel his absence, we are so thankful for the years shared, the memories made, and his dedication to the work of the ministry. While he and Debbie rest together in heavenly places in Christ, Scott’s impact will continue down here in every transcript, his podcasts, and each life touched by his faithful service. His teachings will remain a blessing to many on WTTR, continuing to minister to listeners just as he did in life.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
The following passage brought Scott much comfort after Debbie went to be with the Lord, and we trust these words will do the same for all who grieve his homegoing now.
“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
(1 Thessalonians 4:13–18)
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Scott’s family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed and always remembered as a treasured brother, minister of reconciliation, and fellowlabourer in Christ.

About Brother Scott

The very first memory I have of participating in religion is becoming confirmed in an Episcopal Church in Clinton, Iowa. I attended that church until I was 18 and wasn't required to by my parents any longer, so I stopped going. Needless to say, I didn't care much for it! After that, I believed in God (or a higher power if you will), but I didn't have any ambition to learn about God or religion at all.
Got married in 1977 and had a couple of children by 1983. In 1985 we moved from Iowa to Colorado and decided to seek out a church to get our two children baptized. We started attending a large, self-proclaimed, non-denominational church and after we decided we liked it there, our two children were baptized. We attended for quite a while longer until one day the pastor said from the pulpit, "As a congregation, we need to be better givers, because we don't have enough money to finish improvements to the parking lot." My wife, Debbie, and I thought that was over the top, so we stopped going.
I drove a lot for work and listened to a Christian radio station. I would hear a local pastor speak on the station and liked what he had to say. He spoke out against abortion, homosexuality, and so-called, conservative politicians who weren't conservative enough in his opinion. We found out his church was a 45-minute drive, so we attended one Sunday. We were warmly welcomed and felt comfortable there.
Just like on his radio show, we heard the pastor condemn sin and he preached we had to ask for forgiveness for our sins. We believed that because we didn't know better, and so we were caught up in the self-righteousness just like the pastor and the congregation were. Oh, and he preached from the New King James Version.
We used to watch street preachers on YouTube and admired them. One day, YouTube displayed a channel that included a mid-acts pastor, Steve Atwood, from Chattanooga, Tennessee, so we started listening. These teachings brought certain strange things to our ears (Acts 17:20) that we had never heard before. Things like preaching Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, the ministry of reconciliation, to trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and we are to 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. So, that's what my wife and I started doing.
Well, that led us to Truth Time Radio thankfully! We devoured every single one of their YouTube videos, and we studied along the way, searching the scriptures to see if what we were hearing was true, like the noble Bereans in Acts 17:10-11. We could not find a flaw in Trey Searcy's teaching, so we have been supporters ever since. We had a few phone calls with Trey and Faith along the way and became very good friends with our brother and sister in Christ. We ended up leaving that church we were attending because we discovered they were preaching unsound doctrine.
One day I wrote a Bible study on the subject of those who believe God could never forgive them for all the sins they have committed in their life, and I posted it online. Trey and Faith read it and asked me if I would record an audio version for a new project, they were in the midst of completing. I did so and submitted it to them. Next thing I know, they launch the app, WTTR, a brand-new streaming Christian radio station, and they aired that Bible study I recorded! My wife and I were thrilled!
Since that time, I have written, recorded, and submitted many teachings to WTTR. I am so humbled and grateful for this opportunity to get the word of God out to the entire nation and most of the world via the WTTR streaming app! My podcast is dedicated to edifying the saved and saving the lost.
Sadly, in January of 2024, I lost Debbie, my best friend, wife of 46 years, and mother to our two children unexpectedly. That prompted me to move back to Clinton, Iowa from Colorado. I now live within a mile of my 93-year-old mother who still lives alone in the house I and my three siblings grew up in with our mom and dad. I see her virtually every day. She struggles to walk and I know a lot about physical therapy, so I am assisting her to improve her walking as much as possible.
Eventually I do want to go out and record some "man on the street" audios and submit them to WTTR. That sounds exciting and very rewarding to me. In the meantime, I will keep on keepin' on studying my King James Bible, writing and recording Bible studies, and submitting them to WTTR, hopefully until the Lord returns in the clouds and we meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:17.
